what is
important to us
These are our values. They are what we find to be the most important
part of what we do at Paradox.
- Keep it "Real": Authenticity is very important to us. We are not interested in doing what others expect of us simply for the sake of conformity. We'd rather live our lives without the stress of being molded into something we are not. Taken into all areas of our lives as God seekers, we celebrate the creativity God has gifted us with as we seek authentic ways to relate to one another, worship God, and journey spiritually - in a way that is "real" to us.
- Community: We believe that building
personal relationships founded upon love for one another
is a key principle to the building of God's kingdom
here on earth. Relationships where we can help each
other in areas of need, where we can all laugh and
enjoy life together, where we can find support and
encouragement for dealing with the struggles of life.
- Sharing the Hope of Jesus Christ: We
believe that Jesus Christ came to show us God and to show us a life worth living for. He knew in advance everything that
we would do with our lives, but in spite of that,
he still loved us to the extreme. No matter what we have done in our
lives, God is ready to accept us as we are and wants to help us encounter the full life that he designed us for - this
is the message that we want to share with everyone.
- Multiplication: We believe that
God's plan for the Paradox network is not to be a denomination (in fact, we work under two others) or build "mega-churches", but instead become a network or gathering of comfortably
sized church communities where relationships and a sense
of recognizing God's work in lives is nourished. Instead of focusing on expanding each group in
size, we would like to establish a pattern of birthing
new church communities.
- Discipleship: We believe that
we should continually seek to deepen our relationships
with God, living the way he designed things to be, and show the value of this to others.
- Small Groups: We believe
that true life change occurs in small group settings.
Small groups offer the ability for active involvement
in biblical study and support and accountability
with daily living.
